Nearest Airports: Mangalore International Airport (IXE) – which is 240 kilometres away from Gokarna centre, there are daily flights from Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai on Spice Jet, Air India and Indigo. Taxis between the airport and the gokarna costs ~ INR 2500 – 3000 from the prepaid taxi booth in the airport. There are public buses between the airport and the Mangalore city. Goa International Airport (GOI) – which is 150 kilometres away from Gokarna village, There are daily flights from Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and kolkata on Air asia, Air India, Indigo and Vistara. Taxis between the airport and the gokarna costs – INR 2500 to 3000 from the prepaid taxi booth in the airport.
Gokarna is on one of the main train line (Popularly known as Konkan route). Which starts from Mumbai and ends in Mangalore. Gokarna Road (GOK) railway station is 12 kilometres away from the hostel. Major trains which stops in this station are Matsyagandha Express – Which starts from Mumbai(LTT) at 15:20 and reaches gokarna around 03:00 in the morning other train is Bengaluru Karwar Express – Which starts from Bengaluru (SBC) at 20:30 and reaches Gokarna around 13:30 and there are couple of passenger trains which ply between Mangalore (MAQ) and Goa (MAO) will stop in Gokarna Road railway station.
Gokarna is well connected by an efficient bus service (KSRTC) and private fleet bus services to most cities in Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Telegana. which sometimes are much faster than trains. You’ll find AC, Non Ac sleeper and Normal buses which ply from Gokarna to different parts of South Indian States. Bengaluru is just an overnight journey from Gokarna. Mysore is 11 Hours journey; Mangalore is 5 Hours journey from the City. Hampi is 10 Hours journey from the city (Only 2 direct buses from Hospete to Gokarna), Goa is just 4 Hours away from Gokarna, Mumbai is 14 Hours journey. Hyderabad is 16 Hours journey from Gokarna.
